Dean’s Beans, Orange

All of Dean's Beans whole bean specialty coffees are 100% certified organic, Fair Trade and kosher, and are roasted in small batches in their beanery in Orange. MA. They purchase only shade grown coffee from from villages and importers that are committed to Fair Trade and can attest that the planting, care, harvesting and processing of the beans is done in conformity with international standards for the health of the farmer and his environment, as well as the high quality of the bean.

Since their inception, Dean's Beans has been actively involved in the ecological and social struggles of the farm communities they support. They have served as international election observers, designed and supported women's banks and health projects, and fought for territorial and ecological protection for indigenous communities. They have provided financial and logistical support for many groups trying to better the life of farm communities and protect the third world environment. They have tried to provide a model of involvement for other businesses, to show that "business as usual" can take responsibility for the system within which it profits, and that a successful business does not require ecological or economic oppression.
